ISSUED 06:00 · MÉTÉO-FRANCE

Wind-loaded slabs on north and east aspects above 2400m.

Recent west-southwest winds (60–80 km/h overnight) have transported the surface snow onto leeward slopes. Fresh wind slabs are sitting on a thin layer of faceted crystals, particularly in shaded north and east-facing terrain above the treeline. The bond is weak in places.

Triggering by a single person is possible on slopes of 35° and above. Cornices have grown overnight — give them a wide margin. Below 2400m, the snowpack is generally stable but expect spring conditions on south aspects from mid-morning.
